summer vacation review
We spent some time up at Mt. Tremblant, and some time in North Bay. Here are some photos to give you an idea of what went on...
We spent five days up at Tremblant, Quebec. Check the great waterslide. Our condo can be seen in the background.

Toweling off.

Matt with the Tremblant Moose / Deer / Elk thing.

Crazy slide action.

Madison making freinds with some geese at the Central Canada Exhibition in Ottawa.

A ride on the train with Grandpa Jim at the waterfront in North Bay.

Madison and Matthew enjoying the carousel at the waterfront in North Bay.

Latest employee at Benihana? No! Matthew following his introductory lesson at Douvris Martial Arts.

making comments
A couple of months ago I added Blogger's comment feature to micromcallister. I enjoy getting your feedback - I'm always intested in hearing what you have to say about what I've written.
At this point, this site accepts comments on an anonymous basis from readers - a practise that I may soon curtail as a result of a recent comment made by a reader.
I'm the first one to call myself a moron in many instances, however, from here on in, I'm requesting that if you wish to add your two cents, please add your name to your comment. You are more than free to call me any name in the book, but please have the intestinal fortitude to put your name to your smack.
I'll have that much more respect for you in the morning.

back from vacation
It's not like anyone really cares, but I'm back from vacation and you should start seeing more content permeate through my meager brain onto the site in the next few hours / days. I'm sure you've been waiting to hear what I think of the whole Olympic stupidity that went on while I was away.
Medals in syncronized diving and trampoline? As a Canadian, I'm so very proud.

important duran duran news
A new single from duran duran, Sunrise, goes to air on August 17. I'm as giddy as a school girl! New album due October 12.
Consider this fair warning: polish up your skinny tie. Personally, I'm more inclined to tuck my tie (do I own a tie?) into my shirt to emulate the fashion displayed in the epic Please Please Tell Me Now video. I fear that I've already said too much.
Simon calls the new album (Astronaut) "a cross between The Mama's and The Papa's and Kraftwerk."
I'm not sure how to feel about that.

what i didn't know about buddy lee
Went to lunch at Bella Vista (on Alta Vista - what a pizza! - hey!) today with the Fraz man and Buddy Lee. I've met Buddy Lee a quite a few times now - he's a friend of the Fraz man's from way back in the day. We've had lunch a couple or three times, and he (BL) always has a humourous ancedote to relate - this time he regailed us with tales of his Alaskan Cruise aboard the Love Boat. Buddy Lee always struck me as a romantic.
Anyway, what I didn't know about Buddy Lee is that he's a member of Zydeco Loco.
Many amongst the micromcallister readership will be familiar with the musical stylings of Zydeco Loco - they're an evolution of the Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo.
Buddy Lee, rockin' out. I am told that it is good to rock.

new beasties
One of my guilty listening pleasures has come out with a new disc. I will endeavour to obtain this record album soon in a legitimate, non-pirating manner.

White Jewish boyz bring it. Hard core.

disclaimer: lunch with dad post
Note that before anyone jumps to any sorts of conclusions, please notice that no where in the post entitled "lunch with dad" do I indicate that either Dad or I felt that these servers were in any way attractive. Dad may have, and he's entitled. As for me? I was merely making an impartial observation. Thank you.
lunch with dad
I had lunch with Dad today at an establishment called Grace O'Malley's on Merivale Road today. A fine establishment with a wealthy selection of ales on tap. Both of us observed the waitress prerequisites that are prevailent in the food service industry these days:
- under 25
- blonde
- fit
- pert
- tight baby-t bearing the insignia of the establishment in which they ply their trade
- short / non-existent skirt and / or tight black low-rider pants revealing the ubiquitous navel adornment of choice, be it a ring or one of those bar-like things
