lunch with dad

I had lunch with Dad today at an establishment called Grace O'Malley's on Merivale Road today. A fine establishment with a wealthy selection of ales on tap. Both of us observed the waitress prerequisites that are prevailent in the food service industry these days:

  • under 25
  • blonde
  • fit
  • pert
  • tight baby-t bearing the insignia of the establishment in which they ply their trade
  • short / non-existent skirt and / or tight black low-rider pants revealing the ubiquitous navel adornment of choice, be it a ring or one of those bar-like things
This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode in which Elaine takes the coffee shop to task for hiring only "busty" women. Turned out that the coffee shop was under new ownership, and new waitresses were all daughters of the owner - hence the similarity in physical traits. Having observed this phenomenon in many more than one establishment, I don't think all these girls are related to a single owner.
